In order to maintain the confidentiality of the Agency’s records, we ask that you describe your intended use for the records you are requesting. There are laws which protect these records so the more specific you are, the better we will be able to process your request.

Everything in this request box will be displayed publicly if the agency makes your request public.

Who can see my personal information?

The Department of Licensing (DOL) takes data privacy seriously. Some DOL records can only be disclosed to parties with a permissible use.

Vehicle and driver records are protected by federal law [18 USC Chapter 123 (b)(4)] and state law (RCW 46.12.635). These laws also restrict the redisclosure of driver and vehicle records.

By agreeing to this statement, you certify that you have a permissible use for the records you have requested, particularly for any driver or vehicle records.

You further agree that redisclosure or contact with any person named in the records would only be done as allowed in the laws above.

If the records do not have any legal protections or restrictions, then permissible use standards will not be applied to your request.

You must check this box to indicate your understanding and agreement before proceeding.
